Uniform

The College uniform has been selected in consultation with College Board and Student Council representatives. It is a comfortable, affordable uniform with a broad range of garments. All students are required to wear full college uniform each day.

Students in the College Uniform has the following benefits:

  • Fosters pride in our college community, a sense of belonging and a strong identification with the college
  • Contributes to the safety and security of students through easy identification
  • Minimises pressure on parents to purchase expensive alternatives

College uniform requirements for all students:

  • Navy blue shorts or skirt (with logo or John Forrest Secondary College signature)
  • Dress (with logo or John Forrest Secondary College signature)
      NB Skirts/shorts/dresses to be of an appropriate length (i.e. mid-thigh)
  • John Forrest Secondary College navy blue full length pants or track pants with logo
  • Lower school – navy blue polo shirt displaying John Forrest Secondary College logo
  • Senior school – senior school polo shirt displaying John Forrest Secondary College logo may be worn
  • Navy blue zip front jacket, college track top, rugby top or windcheater displaying John Forrest Secondary College logo
  • Lace up enclosed shoes
  • Blazers and college ties for dress occasions (provided on loan by the college)
  • Navy blue John Forrest Secondary College scarf (not compulsory)
  • Black or navy opaque tights can be worn under a uniform skirt, shorts or dress

Physical Education Uniform Requirements:

  • Navy blue shorts with white and gold side stripe (with John Forrest Secondary College logo)
  • White polo shirt (with John Forrest Secondary College logo)
  • Lace up athletic shoes

Please Note: Students are required to change into physical activity attire (see Physical Education Uniform Requirements) for all sporting activities.

Additional Requirements

  • Sunhats and caps are permitted out of class
  • Caps, hats, school bags and other non-uniform accessories must not contain words, logos or slogans of an offensive or inappropriate nature
  • Headgear worn for religious/cultural reasons will be permitted
  • Hoods and beanies are banned at the college for security reasons
  • Jewellery worn must be of a minimal nature and comply with occupational health and safety requirements

All uniform items are available from the Uniform Shop.
Sanctions will apply to students who do not comply with the college's uniform requirements.
Full school uniform must be worn when attending excursions or other offsite activities representing the college.
All clothing should be clearly and permanently marked so that it is easily identifiable in case of loss.

Uniform Shop

The Uniform Shop operates at 832-834 Beaufort Street, Inglewood  WA  6152. The shop offers a professional retail environment including full POS facilities, spacious fitting rooms, fully air-conditioned with a comfortable waiting area for parents.  The store is open six days a week (Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays 9.00 - 5.00pm, Thursdays 9.00 - 6.00pm and Saturdays 9.00am - 1.00pm) and provides great accessibility and convenience for the College community.  During Term 4, you can make an appointment for a fitting and avoid the long queues in January.  Appointments can be made by calling the uniform shop on 9270 4658, booking online at http://www.nellgray.com.au/appointments .  Please note that the most popular times for appointments are weekdays after 3pm and Saturday mornings.
