Career Pathways

John Forrest has a dedicated Pathways Hub in the college library. The centre is staffed with specialist teachers and a work placement officer.

Under the guidance of our Program Coordinator, our College provides comprehensive information to students as they consider their career options. Students have access to extensive career education programs, individual career counselling, a well- resourced Career Centre, careers exhibitions and opportunities to listen to and meet with guest speakers to maximise their opportunities to explore future pathways.

To know more about the extensive range of Vocational Education and Training opportunities offered at our College visit the Year 11/12 Curriculum.

Pathways Program Coordinator

The Pathways Coordinator is an integral part of a team of staff who assist students entering and progressing through the Senior School, aiding them to make appropriate decisions, in consultation with parents, regarding career options and pathways.

The Pathways Coordinator provides support in the course selection and enrolment processes for students in Years 10-12, provision of choice for students at educational risk to improve their post-school options, support of Vocational Education and Training (VET) and associated vocational programs in the Senior School and encourages the development, maintenance and support in Middle and Senior Schools of student leadership and active participation in College affairs. Assistance is also given to students who wish to apply for qualifications at TAFE or other RTOs (Registered Training Organisations) and university.
