Bicycle racks are provided on campus. Students must abide by the road rules and wear a helmet.  Students are not permitted to ride bicycles on the College grounds.

No responsibility is taken for lost/stolen bicycles. Students should ensure their bikes are secured with sturdy locks.

Public Transport

John Forrest Secondary College is well serviced by public transport, with a large number of Transperth bus routes stopping directly at the school or at the nearby Morley bus station.

Students are reminded to move down the bus as far as possible, and that school bags are to be placed under seats or on your lap.

To plan your journey to our College please visit the Transperth website for detailed maps and timetables.

SmartRider Cards

Students require a Student SmartRider card to travel on Transperth services (including any free travel initiatives).

In order to issue cards, the PTA requires that parents/carers give their permission for schools to provide student details to the PTA for the purposes of registering the student concession travel and to enable the SmartRider card to be produced.

College Parking / Student Drop Off / Pick Up

Parents are encouraged to make use of alternative drop-off and pick up areas, a number of which are indicated on College maps.  Under no circumstances are City of Bayswater car parks to be used.  The City of Bayswater Ranger may undertake school parking patrols and issue infringements to those parents who are parking unlawfully. There is also visitor and disability bays available.

If it is absolutely necessary to pick up students from inside the College grounds, then we would ask you please:

  • Not stop or pick up students in the through traffic lane.
  • Not park or drive through the staff car park.
  • Not park or drive through the car park of the City of Bayswater.
  • Observe the signage regarding no parking and no standing areas (buses require the turning space on return from excursion).
  • Not leave your vehicle unattended.
  • Adhere to the speed limit within the College grounds (8km/hr).

These arrangements are for the safety of our students and your children and to avoid damage to parent and staff vehicles. Please see College maps for more details.

The City of Bayswater has a School Parking Brochure which is available here.

The speed limit within the College grounds is 8km/hr.

Students are advised that there is no student parking available on the College grounds from 2021.
