Student Absence

Absence notification

Only responsible adults listed as student contacts can provide authorised reasons for absences, including signing in late or signing out early.

Parents/guardians are to notify the College with the reason for student absences and provide evidence where relevant or as requested using one of the following methods;

Notification of an absence is preferable prior to 9:05am on the day of the absence and a reason must be given within three days of any absence.

Health related absences

Evidence must be provided to support authorised absences after 5 consecutive days of illness/absence or when requested. If evidence is not provided, future absences may be recorded as unauthorised and may impact student achievement.

Non-Health related absences

Parents/guardians must apply to the principal's delegate (Deputy Principal) for approval of absences relating to extended absences during term.

Parents/guardians are to complete Application to be Absent from School for a Planned Non-Health Related Absence. This is to be submitted 4 weeks prior to the absences from school, unless in exceptional circumstances. Parents/Guardians must and be aware that there is no requirement or expectations that teachers provide work packages for students.
