Netball Academy Day 2020
Netball students celebrated the College "Netball" school year by attending our annual Academy Day event. Held at Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre, students had the opportunity to participate in fitness classes including Body Attack and Boot-Camp Circuit.
All students were involved in a study workshop covering different aspects of our game. Year 7s focused on the “Rules of the Game” and Year 8s had to complete a “Rules Test”. Year 9s completed a goal setting task while Year 10 students discussed and reflected on the role of players on court at an advanced level.
Competitive match play was high on the agenda where students were trialling for a position in a team to represent the College at inter-school competitions throughout 2020. Coaching staff were impressed with standard of the match play after both such a long break and given that we have officially just started pre-season training for the 2020 Netball season within both school and club Netball.
After working hard and impressing coaching staff, students enjoyed a healthy Subway lunch. This was followed by a recovery swim which was a relaxing and enjoyable way for students to finish a busy day.
All Netball students are to be commended and congratulated with the manner in which they behaved and participated in our 2020 Netball Academy Day.
Well done girls!
