Year 8 Storybooks Captivate Audiences
Year 8 English students were special guests at Hillcrest Primary School on Thursday 5 June, where they proudly shared the picture books they created. The Year 2s were captivated—by both the stories and the 'big kids' reading them!
Tales included Alfred the Apple learning kindness, Mimi and Kimi navigating changing friendships, and Sporty Samantha trying new sports.
Students should be proud of their efforts, with their books now entered in the Children's Book Council of Australia's picture book competition.
The Year 8 Students found the experience entertaining and enlightening:
"Interacting with the kids was cute."
" It was nice going back to my primary school."
" It was nice to get out into the community and do something outside of the classroom. "
" Talking to the kids was funny."
" Boston was such a cute kid, he was very nice."
" It surprised me how well the kids listened to my story. "
" The kids were funny. "
" It was nice to have a conversation with the kids."
" I was surprised that the kids actually liked my book! "
" One of the Year 2 students said my handwriting was bad!"
