Charges and Voluntary Contributions - Currently being reviewed
Voluntary contributions, compulsory charges and approved funding paid by parents/carers are used to purchase text
books, materials and other resources used by students in their everyday classes. All contributions and charges assist in
providing an educational program that meets the requirements of the Curriculum Framework and comply with the
guidelines issued by the Department of Education and the School Education Act
The College community is appreciative of the financial support given by parents/carers which enables staff to continue to
offer quality educational programs.
The voluntary contribution requested:
- Year 7-10 is $235 excluding consumable and personal items. This will vary depending on the options chosen by students.
- Years 11 and 12 charges are course based
All charges are to be paid in full by Term 2.

Fiction and non fiction books and a variety of magazine subscriptions
catering for interests in cars, music and sport as well as current affair
magazines are just some of these resources.
In keeping with the ongoing changes in ways we source information,
contributions also help to support online subscriptions such as World Book
Online.

The Student Planner enables parents to be directly involved in their child's
education and is an important communication method between teacher and
parent. It provides a consistent whole school team approach to enhance
teaching and learning. Numerous resources are included in the planner
such as weekly focuses, number skills, vocabulary builder etc. These will
greatly assist students' progress academically, socially and personally.

The Chaplaincy is a non-denominational support service for students. In 2010 Phil Glossop was welcomed as Chaplain at
John Forrest. The role of the College Chaplain includes:

freely with a non teaching staff member such as a chaplain. Many parents
provide feedback about the value of having a person such as a chaplain to
whom their child could go to discuss issues and concerns. The College
chaplain is a critical member of John Forrest's Student Services Team.
