WA Schools Orchestra and Band Festival 2013

John Forrest Senior Band "Outstanding" Award Winner

Congratulations go to the John Forrest Secondary College Senior Band on achieving an "Outstanding" Award at the WA Schools Band Festival held on Sunday 18 August 2013 at the new Churchlands Senior High School Concert Hall. The band performed "Vortex", "Declaration in Blue" and "When Kings go Forth". The band had been working on these pieces since Music Camp earlier in the year.

The John Forrest Junior Band, which draws from students in the surrounding primary schools as well as lower school students from John Forrest, also performed in the C Division at the Festival and achieved a respectable "Merit". They received a recording of their performance and were given valuable feedback from the adjudicators. The band performed "Odyssey", "Hobbit Dance" and "Somebody I used to know".
