THE QUEST 2017
BRAINways Education in conjunction with the University of Western Australia invited teams of gifted and talented students representing their schools in Perth to participate in a team challenge known as 'The Quest'.
John Forrest Secondary College was well represented in the Years 7-10 category by a talented group of Year 7 students. The two day competition was held on the 13-14 November. The students investigated the theme
A SHARED UNDERSTANDING OF REALITY within the disciplines of Mathematics, Science and Humanities. The students collaborated effectively and worked well as a team. They displayed high-level creativity and problem solving skills, approaching every task with enthusiasm.
The group of students were split into teams of three, and with one team placing third in the Humanities category. The students competed against 11 other schools. The talent and skill demonstrated by all Year 7 students was impressive. Our students should be proud of themselves and their efforts.
Unfortunately the College didn't qualify for the State finals. However, this was the first time the College has participated in the competition and we are proud of their positive attitude towards the challenge. The College would like to congratulate all students who competed on the day and we are looking forward to next year's quest.
