2018 Remembrance Day 100th Anniversary
John Forrest Secondary College has a special tradition to gather with our College community (staff, students current or former, their families/friends, everyone is welcome) on Remembrance Day at Riverside Gardens, Bayswater. Remembrance day has a special significance in 2018, it marks the 100th anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War (1914–18).
Together we ambled around the picturesque setting placing flowers on each of the commemorative plaques. Everyone reconvened at the memorial cenotaph for a short ceremony followed by one minute's silence at 11am, in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts.
It's always a heartwarming moment to see our College community come together for events such as Remembrance day. The College thanks everyone who chose to spend their Remembrance day with us on Sunday.
