Year 7/8 Netball Camp 2019
On Wednesday morning 4 December Year 7 and 8 Netball students set out on their final excursion for 2019 to Woodman Point Camp.
First was a visit to Governor Stirling High School. Playing in hot conditions, all teams had close encounters as they had done a few months ago at the Regional Lightning Carnivals. Wednesday afternoon presented new challenges. Students enjoyed the coastal bike ride, flying fox and climbing wall activities.
Thursday involved a mini carnival, JFSC v Rockingham SHS at Mike Barnett Sports Complex. Overall John Forrest teams edged out Rockingham and enjoyed the competition.
Lunch and a swim at Rockingham Foreshore is always a great way to recover after a game, and an ice cream from Baskin-Robbins …..what a treat!
Thursday afternoon at Zone Bowling Rockingham was interesting to say the least. There was some talent in the lanes in Maddison Littlecott and Grace Tomazin teaching us “all” how to make a “strike”.
Friday morning our group relocated to Point Peron Camp to snorkel and kayak. Conditions were perfect on the water and everyone enjoyed these activities.
Some strange things did happen….like pen a lid getting stuck in the cast on a broken arm, a lonely sleep walker losing their way in the spooky corridors of Grevillia Dorm and a particular student who kept falling off their bike during the coastal bike ride.
We had a great time.
