Performance shows Shakespeare's more than words
On Friday 16 August drama students from Years 9 to 12 were taken on a merry journey by a Fool, Juliet and Macbeth in Bell Shakespeare's production of Words, Words, Words.
The shows synopsis as per the Bell Shakespeare's Website is that "Macbeth, Juliet and a Fool find themselves in a strange place following the conclusion of their plays. Their lives have ended but they need to move on, and they only have a copy of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare to help them. As they dive into the book and reflect on their own lives and the choices they made, they discover the true power of Shakespeare's language."
This production presented the audience with a creative and energetic way to learn about the works of Shakespeare and the impact these have had on society and the English language as we know it today. This highly entertaining production was a joy to experience and we were honoured to have this fantastic NSW Production Company travel to WA.
I really enjoyed the performance. It was informative learning about the things Shakespeare put into his scripts / performances. I liked how the characters were portrayed differently to how they were in the actual scripts which made it really great to watch. – Eloise G (Year 9 Student)
