Engineering Club fly into 2019
On Wednesday 13 March the Engineering Club performed their first build competition for 2019. Students were set the task of creating an object which had to include paper and balloon(s) as materials and make it fly across the gymnasium. Students came up with a range of designs with no two exactly the same in design or performance. In the end it was the use of the balloon as a rubber sling shot (making use of elastic potential energy) that won the day over jet propulsion systems. The winning team were Theo Andrews, Andrew Sims and Endri Abeli. The next task for Engineering Club is to build a mechanical hand.
