Students examine Perth's changing Geography
Over two days during July and August the Year 12 Geography Students travelled in and around the Perth CBD to examine Perth's current urban landscape, the changes that have been made in the past and what possible changes could be made in the future to improve transportation.
On 31 July students spent the day at a Metronet workshop where students were able to examine and select a route for a new transport link between Ellenbrook and Bayswater. The students worked alongside 15 other schools, taking into account the opportunities and constraints of the project and devised a number of innovative solutions as well as examining micromobility (e-scooters, e-bikes) to facilitate journeys.
Students spent 28 August touring around various Perth landmarks examining their past, present and future incarnations. These locations included Elizabeth Quay, the treasury building, King Street shopping precinct, East Perth, Northbridge, Subiaco and Yagan Square.
These two days were enjoyable and eye opening for all.
