Specialist Sports Netball Carnival
The 2019 Netball Season got off to a great start for the Year 7-9 Netball Teams during the final week of Term 1.
The first competition on the 2019 Calendar was the Specialist Sports Netball Carnival on Wednesday 10 April at Wanneroo Districts Netball Association. With teams enduring an unseasonably hot and sunny day, all teams performed well. This carnival was a great way to start the year with the key emphasis of the day being on sportsmanship and overall participation.
Year 7s
This Specialist Schools Netball Carnival was the first time our Year 7 class has represented JFSC and they did not disappoint. Both Team 1 and 2 competed well, showcasing their skills and attacking strategies from centre passes they had practised diligently throughout Term 1. The teamwork and sportsmanship displayed was outstanding. Well done girls!
Year 8s
This term the Year 8 Netball Specialist Program has been focusing on set plays relating to backline and sideline throw ins and centre passes. This Carnival provided an excellent opportunity for the girls to implement these strategies. The girls performed well all day and demonstrated great team work and sportsmanship. The students are to be complemented for their effort throughout the day and how well they represented the school.
Year 9s
The Year 9 Specialist Program teams had a great day and impressed their coaches. This term they have been working hard to perfect their set plays from the sideline, base line and centre passes, which they managed to do occasionally under pressure. The Year 9's demonstrated their fantastic sportsmanship and gelled well to produce some great netball against all of their opponents.
Year 11 and 12 Certificate 2 Sport and Recreation Netball students assisted in coaching and umpiring throughout the day.
