Senior Classical Guitar Ensemble OPUS 2019
On Monday 1 July the JFSC’s Senior Classical Guitar Ensemble were invited to perform in the annual Instrumental Music School Services Showcase Concert OPUS 2019. This concert showcases outstanding instrumental and choral music from government schools at both Primary and Secondary levels.
Directed by Graham Hall, the JFSC Senior Classical Guitar Ensemble performed the three movement piece titled “Journeys and Voyages” (movements #1 – Over Inland Seas, #2 On the Trade Winds, and #3 Along the Spice Route) by Richard Charlton. The students performed excellently in front of a very large audience at the Perth Concert Hall.
Their performance was also recognised by the Bruce Herriman, Principal of the Instrumental Music School Services, who sent the below congratulations:
“Thank you for providing an excellent ensemble to perform at the OPUS 2019 concert last night. The Charlton work provided excellent opportunity for the students to shine in both ensemble and solo playing. Compliments to the percussionist as well who played with sensitivity and added lovely colours to the work. Please pass on my congratulations and commendations to your students.
It was great to see John Forrest SC back on stage at the Concert Hall.”
Congratulations to Graham Hall and the members of the JFSC Senior Classical Guitar Ensemble on such a fantastic performance.
