Slazenger Cup 2019
Competition was intense as the Year 10-12 Tennis Students battled it out in the annual Slazenger Cup on Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 April. This event is part of Tennis West's Sunsmart Schools Tennis Classic which allows Metropolitan and Country schools to compete against each other in both singles and doubles games.
On Monday our Female Tennis Students competed against 40 other teams with both JFSC teams making it to the Division one and two finals. Two students, Kristina Fabo and Alyssa Ventrice, also displayed fantastic community spirit by stepping in and playing for Lumen Christi College who were two players short on the day. The Division one team made it to the semi-finals, losing a tight match to the eventual winners of the competition.
Tuesday saw five JFSC Boys teams competing over two locations, Robertson Park Tennis Centre and Alexander Park Tennis Club, and against approximately 80 teams. Four JFSC Teams made the finals with one making it to the semi-finals of the Mursell Shield.
Congratulations to all Tennis students who participated.
