SSWA Netball Champion Schools – Interzone Round
Following the North and South Carnivals in May, four JFSC Netball teams progressed to the second round of the SSWA Netball Champions Schools Competition – the Interzone round. Played throughout June, all teams went into their respective games with great energy and determination.
The Year 7 Team 1 played out a physical game against a very strong Ursula Frayne team. The score certainly did not reflect what was a highly competitive game.
The Year 8 Team 1 had a convincing win over Perth Modern. Congratulations to the team on progressing to the next stage of the Champion Schools Tournament, the Elimination Finals Day, which will be held in August.
The Year 9 Team 1 played a tightly contested game against a like Ursula Frayne team. Their losing margin was three goals. This score was so narrow in an end to end game that the JFSC team won a "wild card" entry into Elimination Finals Day in August. A second chance…go for it girls!
The Open Team played the most stunning game against Governor Stirling SHS. Coaches from both schools were astounded at the excellent standard of netball on show. Unfortunately, our unforced errors cost us the game and our Open team will not be progressing to Eliminations Finals.
Congratulations to all teams for making it to the Interzone stage.
This year for only the second time JFSC will be having a senior boys team competing at the Fremantle Eliminations Finals Day. All staff and students would like to wish our Year 8 and 9 Team 1 and Open Boys Team all the best for this extremely challenging stage of tournament.
