Creating curiosity in the future of Robotics
In early July select Year 9 Science classes were treated to a visit by Firetech. As part of a STEM project, Firetech supplied the classes with Lego Mindstorm robot sets. Students were then set the task of constructing and programming these robots within the hour. This proved to be a stimulating challenge that helped develop student's confidence in their personal problem solving skills.
Both students and teachers found these sessions engaging and inspiring. Students gained a greater awareness as to how coding and robotics are prevalent in everyday life and how they could incorporate both in their future careers. Many students expressed disappointment that the session was so short and eagerness for more sessions in the future.
