Cafe 180 is up and running!
At last the Year 12 Certificate II in Retail Services students are able to put their skills and knowledge to practice in our takeaway cafe which started operation in Term 2 Week 4. A class vote resulted in naming our business Cafe 180.
Before starting operations students were involved in training to make a range of beverages using the commercial espresso machine and in delivering good customer service. Also as part of their training, the students completed the COVID -19 AHA Hospitality and Tourism Hygiene Course and the unit of competency SIRRFSA001 Handle food safely in a retail environment to ensure good hygiene is exercised at all times within the business.
The students are really enjoying the variety of roles within a cafe including operating the espresso machine, collecting and delivering orders, using processes and procedures, supervising and completing sales transactions.
Being able to deliver beautiful coffee, mochas or hot chocolate to staff is a very rewarding experience for both staff and students with much positive feedback being provided about the interactions.
