Write a Book in a Day 2021

With creative juices flowing and art supplies at the ready, 6 teams of students ("That Team", "The Paper Gazelles", "The 8 Smarties", "Fufu JFSC", "The Writing Co" and "The Mad Hatters") went to work to each create a book within a 9-hour period in the annual Write a Book in a Day Competition on Tuesday 24 August 2021.

The day was not only about creativity, with over $3,000 to date (as of 27 August 2021) being raised to support The Kids' Cancer Project . The fundraising efforts are ongoing, with donations able to be made on the Write a Book in a Day website until the end of September. Special mention to the group "The 8 Smarties" who have raised over $2,000 via bake sales and promoting the Kids Cancer Project online – well done!

The books produced will be published for children in hospital to read. Books from teams who have raised over $240 are also entered into a nationwide competition where books will be judged based on their story and illustrations, with award winners being announced later in the year.

Well done again to all teams who competed in this year's Write a book in a Day and good luck to all who make it into the national competition.
