Students discover UWA possibilities
On the Wednesday 17 November seven JFSC Year 8 students attended a Discovery Day at the School of Indigenous Studies, Bilya Marlee, UWA.
They visited three different learning areas Psychology, Zoology and Sport Science.
In Psychology the students took part in three activities which demonstrated the many ways we use our brains to decipher information.
Zoology was an introduction into the world of crickets, learning how and why they chirp, watching them court and fight over a mate.
Sport Science was a flurry of activity, testing flexibility and speed.
After a day of fun, the students were treated to lunch under the trees at Bilya Marlee where they heard from current Indigenous UWA students about their experience of studying at university and the support and pathways made available to them through the School of Indigenous Studies.
It was inspiration, educational and fun!
