Students get a taste for Construction
On Wednesday 16 March select Year 8 and 9 students participated in a Try-A-Trade day facilitated by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), Construction Training Fund (CTF) and MPA Skills.
During this girls-only event students were able to try their hands at 3 different trades – Painting, Plumbing and Carpentry. Each course was run by female instructors who work in the industry, providing students with valuable insight to how the different industries could suit them.
Feedback from all participants was that they enjoyed the experience immensely and it helped them confirm their ideas about their future career paths.
Thank you again to NAWIC, CTF and MPA Skills for hosting this fantastic event.
