Library News
Well done to the winners of our Library Lovers writing competition, Ryan Edwards, Anastasija Jakotic and Jessica Manalili and runners-up Aiden Nduracha, Jade Gladwell, Michael Sims, Desmond Collis and Stanislava Crevar.
Over the month of February, dozens of love letters from students to our library arrived as part of our writing competition. Winners were awarded books, kindly donated by Dymocks Morley. It was hard choosing just who to award prizes to as there were so many wonderful examples of creative and figurative writing. We thoroughly enjoyed reading them all!
Some examples are included below.
"All the books just took my breath away. So many choices lead me to 1000 voices. I have to sacrifice one book for another."
"…you also have limitless hours of enjoyment with your interesting narratives. Along with all of the board games you have that I frequently enjoy using with my friends."
"Roses are red. Violets are blue. I love the library. Autobiographies and chess too!"
"Matilda inspires me to read but so do the lovely staff members."
"…it is a silent place you can escape this world to magnificent worlds with magical adventures with dragons, dwarves and much, much more."
"It's a relaxing space to get lost in words until the siren is heard…"
"What I also love is that there is free Wi-Fi, I have no Wi-Fi at home, so I can do my homework in the library with my friends."
"My favourite type of book is an autobiography because I love reading about sports stars lives, as a fellow tennis player I mostly like reading about famous tennis players."
"I think I speak for everyone and say thank you for everything you do for every single one of the students. You look after the library so well and we all appreciate it so much."
