Harmony Week 2026

In Week 7 Term 1, JFSC celebrated Harmony Week.

On Thursday we celebrated our amazing and diverse College community as students were invited to wear their cultural dress or wear orange to mark the occasion.

Year 10 prefects also marked Harmony Week by holding bake sales to commemorate two important days: National Close the Gap Day and the UN International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. One bake sale was held on Tuesday to celebrate Harmony Week as a whole, and another on Thursday for National Close the Gap Day, where students also braided green and orange bracelets.

Thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of the school community, the councillors raised over $850, which will be donated to the Edmund Rice Centre WA and the Close the Gap Campaign.

The Edmund Rice Centre WA is a local organisation who provide a range of community education activities and services to assist those from refugee and migrant backgrounds, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The Close the Gap campaign is a social justice campaign focused on Indigenous Australians' health, they incorporate over 50 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous health bodies, NGOs and human rights organisations to achieve health equality in Australia.
