New Zealand Music Tour 2026

In term 2 our musicians headed to New Zealand to attend events for Rhapsody Rotorua International Music Festival. The tour started with a visit to the Wētā Workshop, the renowned film studio responsible for the special effects and creative design work behind The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and many other films.

On day 2, the students performed for a local primary school in Rotorua before completing their adjudicated workshop as part of Rhapsody Rotorua.

The tour continued with a visit to the enchanting geothermal Lake Rotorua. Students also explored the majestic Redwood Forest before returning to support our Classical Guitar Quartet during their adjudicated performance. In the evening, they attended the second festival concert, which featured ensembles from participating schools.

The eight-day music tour concluded with an awards ceremony, dinner and dance party, where JFSC students were presented with two Silver Awards. The students returned home with unforgettable memories and valuable experiences. We are incredibly proud of this outstanding achievement and look forward to many more major musical events in the future.
