2026 Law Society Mock Trials - Round 1
It is the time of year again when JFSC budding legal professionals take to the courtroom for the glory of winning the Law Society of WA Mock Trial Competition. The school had a significant amount of interest in the competition this year and entered 3 teams. The first round was undertaken on the evening of Thursday 17 March 2026 and it was a case of common assault under section 313 of the Criminal Code of Western Australia.
After a somewhat nervous start, all three JFSC teams settled to perform their duties impressively. Our witnesses giving unbiased and truthful testimony, our Court Orderlies and Judges Associates ensuring the procedural efficiency of the courts and our barristers and instructing solicitors advocating for their clients and arguing to the best of their ability.
By the end of the night 2 out of the 3 JFSC teams were rewarded with competition victories (one of the wins being by only 1 point!). It was impressive to see all of the students involved attend the evening and represent themselves so maturely and professionally - congratulations to all of you.
We look forward to seeing you all in Round 2!
