JFSC Annual Dance Showcase – Odyssey
On Friday 13 August 2021 JFSC Dance students entertained audiences at the Swan Park Theatre in the annual JFSC Dance Showcase entitled “Odyssey”.
As the name Odyssey suggests, audiences were taken on an adventurous journey celebrating the melting pot of cultures in our Dance cohort featured in an array of group pieces, duets and solos. A lovely mix of contemporary, cultural, acro, jazz, tap and a LOT of hip hop exploded onstage. As highlighted below, this was indeed a wonderful night:
“The 2021 Dance Showcase was fabulous! So much talent. What I was impressed about was that some of these students are not professionally trained and I was very impressed! I loved that there was a variety of genres – we got to see Acrobatics, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical, Bollywood, Indian Contemporary etc! The showcase had great energy and it was lovely afterwards to see them all congratulating each other and giving out hi fives!” – Mrs L Taylor (Parent to Year 10 Student)
Congratulations to all Dance students involved and Meg Yates and Julia Quinn who made it happen. Also, thanks to staff (Robert Woodward, Catherine Lucas, Louise Santarelli, Fayth Good, Eric Larson, Phil Chadwick) and JFSC Dance graduates (Ana Dotlic, Alexa Brown, Nataree Jones, Trace Cawthorne and Steven Tang) assisting on the night, and the Media team (Jasmin Gardner (Photography) and Caitlyn Annesley, Zoe Thair and Emily Filipe (Video)) who have captured the event.
We wish participating dancers the best of luck and success at the upcoming Perth Dance Challenge.
