Career Taster – Glazing

The last day of Term 1 saw a small group of Year 9s engage in the exclusive opportunity to try the glazing trade.

The boys (literally) had a smashing time testing and identifying different types of glass and after a demonstration from their TAFE trainer they honed their glass cutting and polishing skills. They used a range of specific tools and equipment at the Balga TAFE campus to create their own glass coasters and platter. It was brilliant to see some of the boys focus to quickly learn new skills and then work alongside their classmates to help them.

Throughout the day the boys saw apprentices at work and learned about the various glazing career opportunities available to them.
