World Children’s Day 2025
In Week 6, the College celebrated UNICEF’s World Children’s Day, where student councillors across Years 7–10 led the way in raising awareness and funds through a variety of activities. Everything was student-driven—from planning events like bracelet making, hair braiding, and face painting (all themed in UNICEF’s blue), to baking homemade goods for the bake sale.
World Children’s Day is UNICEF’s Global Day of Action for children, by children, marking the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Each morning, selected students also broadcast messages about the activities and shared meaningful quotes during form.
Thanks to their incredible efforts, the councillors raised over $650, which will go to two UNICEF campaigns they voted for:
- Children in Emergencies: Providing urgent assistance to children and families affected by crises in places like Gaza, Ukraine, Afghanistan, and Sudan.
- Education for Every Girl: Ensuring girls everywhere have the opportunity to learn, heal, and prepare for a brighter future.
It was an amazing week that showcased the power of student voice and the impact it can have in standing up for children’s rights.
